Scale32
Looking good Shawn. I built this kit a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It must have shown, because it won first place at Model Expo here in Melbourne! Looking forward to more updates. Cheers Bevan Shawn M
Shawn M
Thanks Bevan, its enjoyable so far for sure! I do think if you enjoy the build that it shows in the final result, a lot like painting or sculpting I think our models take on a bit of our emotions as we go. I was able to add some wire details to the gunsight and restore the headrest levers on the seats last night. Should be primer time today! mozart
Shawn M
got the parts to be primed all stuck on sticks while waiting for my wife to wake up before firing up the compressor, I decided to go through and knock a few other items out. Opened up the heater exhaust vents on the top of the wings. Revell molds them in relief I just made quick work of 'em with a pin vise Needed to fit the oblique gun inserts into the fairing add the ladder door to the fuselage then onto the ventral gun tray. Revell gives you blank inserts for the unused blast tubes those aren't gonna cut it so I stuffed some sprue in them some liquid glue made em all melty snuggled in and after a while I sawed off then filed and sanded them down a spot or two of filler and voila! mozart, MikeMaben, Out2gtcha and 4 others

Shawn M
Im stuck working at home still, 2 weeks has turned into a month. I set up my work office in my model room for some quiet during the day. It also allows me to fiddle while working Going on vacation next week so all progress will halt from saturday on. monthebiff
Nice project Shawn, will you be attempting to fix the fuselage and engine nacelle shape issue's or just have a blast and build it as is? Regards. Andy Shawn M
Shawn M
Hi Andy, not gonna fix the shape issues, no interest in doing so. It may not be "accurate" to the blueprints, but overall it captures the look well enough for me. Out2gtcha
This looks grand Shawn! If it were me, I'd likely build this one as is too. Looking forward to more progress! Shawn M and monthebiff

Shawn M
pics to come but I got all the (grey) cockpit parts painted up in a black base style. Started with light grey (Gris Claro) on the vertical surfaces then used GrauBlau (Grey) on the horizontal surfaces and edges of the panels then a thinned Medium Sea Gray (Mar Medio) as the final color. Shawn M
now that Im back I can catch pic's up from before my departure. I should start working on detail painting this week. I also received some excellent ZM '219 pilots from BloorWest (Thanks Carl!) that will be painted up and added. Not shown is the dry brushing and pigments added, some of these are post wash Edited June 18, 2018 by Shawn M BradG, Jan_G, Greg W and 1 other

BloorwestSiR
Glad I could help out Shawn. I got held up yesterday dealing with my J sutance company so couldn't scan the instructions. I did grab a quick pic of them though. If this doesn't work, I'll try to scan them tonight. Carl Shawn M and Out2gtcha
