I been admiring the work you've done on the engine up to this point. Amazed you put plugs in it. I find that adding ignition wires in this scale and a blob of paint to represent the plug enough of a challenge.
Glad to see you buttoning it up.
Hey Gaz, there's a little secret with these engine kits that everyone should know.
The Argus engine included in this kit has plugs moulded in place. And extra parts to do everything seen in my engine build.
The kit instructions point you to cylinder moldings with the overhead valve pushrods molded as blobs on the side of the cylinders. It looks absolutely hideous upon a close up evaluation.
But also included on the sprue and seemingly unmentioned in the kit instructions is a cylinder set with NO pushrods molded on, but the plugs are still there.
Just a quick look at the Argus engine sprue and you'll see it.
So just ignore the kit instructions, drill holes in the lifters for pushrods, install your own metal pushrods, use the pushrod-less cylinder parts, and 'poof', you now have cool metal pushrods and room for the ignition harness which is actually also on the engine sprue. (The kit instructions actually instruct you to cut away the harness from the distributors!) Silliness!!!
So a bit of part swapping and mix and match and you have this. Still technically OOB, just not 100% according to kit instructions. And you get a semi doctored up super detailed engine.
That's for the Argus engine.
But if you want to use the Merc, that on has no plugs molded on the cylinders, so you need to install those and the leads yourself.
