And let's not mention farms in the Falklands, if that doesn't get the chickens and the wife laying one, i dont know what will.. :DF4SDI.jpg
Thinking about it this is probably one of the J's we bought to tide us over, they were used in the Falklands as being an oddball in the fleet.... Interestingly they did a hip replacement on some old dear down south and they used a phantom bolt in the operation as they were short, titanium is the one metal bone will grow too.

Are you sure Js were used in the Falklands? Always understood it was 23 Sqn then 1435 Flt with FGR2s, the J(UK)s were with 74 at Wattisham.

That's me having a brain dump, you are correct the J was purchased to bolster UK air defence while the Falklands war was on.

You sure Neil asked to post these images? The info we got on the Lanc progress was promised to be kept under our hats for the time being. :innocent:

That reminds me of the scene in Dr. Strangelove where George C. Scott as USAF General Turgidson gets carried away with what a low flying B-52 can do. "...frying chickens in the barnyard!"

Btw, it's most definitely a Spey Phantom in the photo, as the squared top of the fin indicates.
