As has been noted in Hyperscale the management of Photobucket appear to have reversed themselves as regards Fees and the holding to Ransom of all out pics , and Voila'  the pics hosted in Photobucket have become available again

So a good start to a Wednesday for a change

Apparently they're "under new management" now. Personally, I won't go near them again.

I am really pleased about this as I had about 3,000 images in my build threads which would have been 'ransomed' this July. I just couldn't face the effort of moving them so I left well alone until now and then this - they are offering a way of keeping them up without stupid prices :)

while I really don't want to give them my money, I don't really have a choice - it's $29 a year, or move every image to a new host so for me it's a no brainer...

The only good thing this provided me is that my old WIP threads now have (most) of the pictures restored.  But I moved to ImageShack for all of my latest builds and that's where I'll stay.  Nice to see the old pics again, but the business practices of PB were so poor I'm completely turned off - even with the new CEO trying to do things 'right'.

Hey Colin - no worries, better late than never huh?  I often find out about things here waaay after everyone else.

This!

However, I do find it refreshing to know they realized what complete morons they were being, and we get to have some older interesting threads back at the very least.

Brian

I'm not sure so there isn't an ulterior motive behind all this. :hmmm: There was no promise of not raising the monthly fee after an initial period and of course, the price would go up "only a small amount" But what is a small amount and will what comes with the plan after a small increase? Will itbe altered or changed?

I'll never trust a company that went out of their was to hold our work hostages, thinking we had no alternatives. For me, I'm gone for good

I'm gonna go against the grain and give them another chance. I've always believed in giving someone or something a second chance. What they did was wrong, but we should at least give them 1 more chance.
Alot of us might not be here today or be where we are at in our lives were it not for us getting a 2nd chance and do over.
Remember:
"A 2nd chance is the 1st opportunity to succeed or make right the 1st wrong!"
It goes both ways-- for PB and us! And they've taken the first steps toward making right their wrong!

Great news!  It is amazing how much that impacted things.

I'm done with them though.

Their move forced me to find a new image hosted and now that I have it, I'm not going back.

Great work, Photobucket!
