What Carrier is that?  the stern name starts CHA but the only US carrier with CHA in it's name is the Lake Champlain and that is definitely not her.

lake Champlain. Vermont when did they name carriers after lakes

Interesting photo if not frighting as if you notice the prop is still turning and look in the left corner down in the hangar bay you can someone with his hand up in fear that the prop will hit him.

What are the lines around the wheel struts that are holding the plane up?

What are the lines around the wheel struts that are holding the plane up?

That's the barricade lines for when an aircraft misses all the arrestor cables. If you look back in the left corner of the photo you can see the barricade post sticking up vertical from the deck.

Thought it was an advertisement for the "Do Drop Inn" restaurant !! LOL! The Hellcat hanging into the elevator looks like the prop is still turning! Yikes....big food processor guys!!

Yes, before it ends up crashing into parked aircraft on the Bow. Like in the photo below:
