Westland Wyvern

It has been quite some time since I've started a build on LSP and I feel bad about it. I've had a lot of fun building a P-61 here, so I would like to start another build. Something special.

The idea is to build a 1/32 scale Westland Wyvern. This fire-breathing dragon will be based on the Tigger vacuformed kit (I haven't got it yet, but I will soon I hope).

I've always liked this aircraft. It started with a 1/72 Frog kit that I gave away because someone really wanted to build it. After that, I had to wait for Trumpeter to release one and I built it in 1/72, had a lot of fun with it! Not sure if I'm going to make it till the end, but I'm highly motivated.

Please feel free to post photos of details. I'm especially interested in cockpit and maintenance photographs.

I hope you like the idea.

Nic, perfect choice of subject, unfortunately i don't have any detail info i can share with you, but knowing your expertise in building i'm confident this Wyvern will be a joy to see.

Have very much fun building,

cheers,

Thank you all for the very warm encouragements! So, step 1 before the kit arrives: information gathering. And I hope some of you can help me to info and photos. I've got 1 book on the Wyvern and some magazine stories, but not so much is available on this aircraft...

The Wyvern was equipped with a Martin Baker Mk.2H ejection seat. Is there anyone who can help me with some information on this seat? Is the H-version like the seat of a Hawker Hunter or are there big differences? Maybe someone lives near a museum where such a seat can be photographed?

I'm also looking for photos of the Python engine, any open hatches or panels. The Trumpeter kits have some kind of rocket-engines for assisted take off. Does anyone know if this was actually used? And if so, does anyone have some info and photos of those?

Thanks for following along and sorry for the many questions. I'm afraid more will follow ...
