  1. after the above disaster I changed from mr decal set to mr decal soft for a puddle under the decal. while it dried I used an ear bud to gently press down on the decal then waited for at least 8 hours that seemed to do the trick. they really do look painted on. Ih ad to cut a stencil and do a couple of shoots of paint to replace the decal I wrecked so I am back on track. Yes i agree warm water in fact I have coffee cup warmer I sit my porcelin decal water cup on to keep the water hot
  2. good choice of decals I did yellow 23 in 1/32
  3. they are a great idea however in general it is hit or miss. i am building the hgw( dragon cybermodel) bf 109-7. It is fussy model but the construction and painting came out great( I a m planning on exposing the engine so the big pitall of fit around the engine was avoided. The included rivets actually went on well( however for themsot part you dont see them. When it came to decaling the balken cruzes shredded. The haken cruz as well. It turned a fussy project into a pit. I was able to salvage it for the most part and for one wing emblem I cut a stencil on my cameo to paint on the blaken cruz. I have a set for a p 51 not sure I wlll use them. When the work they are great just like painted on
  4. impressive I have a saitek(now logitech ) x52 which is not eay to program. hmm no ruddr pedals although not really needed in the f 16
  5. and I thought flacon was difficult. I have a logotech x 52 but am having trouble programing it. I managed to crash the p 51 because I did not know to set theoil cooler to auto duh. amazing graphics first one is a tamiya model
  6. I used to fly flacon f 16 holy moly the grapgics are incredible( new computer flying at max detail) Just flying around not like riding a bicycle but will relearn sooner or later. I have the grapihcs for sweet arelne and cripes a might. I got the P 51 module and the f 16 module
  7. I have done it lacquer over enamael jsut dont spray it wet according to ai According to some sources, lacquer can be used over most fully cured enamels that have good film integrity. However, others say that lacquer should not be applied over enamel: Lacquer solvents: Lacquer solvents are stronger, faster evaporating, and "hotter" than enamel solvents. The lacquer solvents can "dissolve" the enamel paint underneath them, leading to "alligatoring" or cracking. Chemical attack: Lacquer can chemically attack the enamel causing wrinkles, eaten paint, or just soft spots. Craising: Lacquer or dope can craze the enamel and make a swirled up mess. Removing paint: The enamel will lift and make a mess if you put lacquer over it.
  8. https://youtu.be/eTPiJ9OkvgM michigan toy soldier has it in the usa I have ordered from them. I mostly dont use ca glue but this seems worth while
  9. found this btw are we talking about the lacquer or aquesous paint https://forums.kitmaker.net/t/thinner-and-thinning-ak-real-colors/3457 did not know that the ak has its own built in leveling agent so that using mr color leveling gives a glossy coat suposedly Ihave used mr color thinner and mr levaling with it as welll as cheap generic thinner all good. I jst bought some of their high compatibility thinner
  10. I have also used mr color thinners with acceptable results, however given the effort of stripping etec if there is an advantage to using their thinners I am going to try theirs on my next build
  11. I am abouat to start the hgw version of this with a ton of ams goodies they included wheels rivets canopy masks yahu cockpit ip and more. I read a couple of reviews about he canopy not sitting flush but am going to do it with the front panels off to showcase the engine. Btw I know a lot fo the db engines had some stencils on it any rhyme or reason to what to put there except some numbers?
  12. I am very interested in it not enjoying it if you get what I mean. 6 weeks was reportedly the est life span of a crew. Far different then the ground war in that they did not really have the normality of the base in bweteen the episodes of terror. The part where the boy felt so guilty for not dying with the belly turret gunner when teh door jamed was gut wrenching. I am looking forward to episode 5. I am getting into dcs and it is interesting to see the stratagey from the lufwaffe pov.
  13. thanks it was a 2 year wait to get on the list to build it.
  14. after moving I have been very slow to set up my modeling area in part to moving inpart due to buying a new sports car however just got the new zouko maru Fw 190 A annd assorted ams so looking forward to restarting
