  1. Fabulous work so far - look forward to seeing this one come together, it looks a really lovely kit! Iain
  2. Hmmm... *Very* difficult question - and *very* hard to pick only three. If pushed probably the following: #1. English Electric Lightning (any early model in natural metal) - an icon - and the aeroplane that started the fascination with aviation for me. #2. de Havilland Hornet - one of the ultimate piston-engined fighters - and a favourite of Captain Eric "Winkle" Brown, which says rather a lot! #3. A-26K Invader - another performer, as well as a good looker. I could go on some adventures with my buddies with one of those. Other than that - most things silver and from the 1930s. Blue skies, Iain
  3. Not sure *how* I missed the start of this wonderful project - but this one I'm going to *have* to follow! All power to you both - I look forward to seeing it come together. Iain
  4. That’s absolutely beautiful Dave!! Iain
  5. Seconded - really worthwhile reads - and from a source/eye I trust! Iain
  6. *If* I know the subject reasonably well it has to look right shape-wise - at least to my personal eyes. Actually, if I'm honest, it's the research and challenge of 'fixing' things I find that probably gives me the most satisfaction in modelling... Oh, and I aspire to #5 on that list: which is probably why I can never, actually, finish anything!! Iain
  7. This looks like a lot of fun. And that cockpit looks brilliant! Iain
  8. Looking really good Kev! Iain
  9. Beautifully done Alain! Iain
  10. Lovely work on the riveting - and the touched-up/faded areas of paint - John! Iain
  11. Airfield has changed a lot since the Spits operated from there, but if you've ever driven into London on the A40 and had an aeroplane fly over the top of you, on Final to RAF Northolt: Iain
  12. Actually - there's also some inspiration for this one from an overnight stay at RAF Northolt a few weeks back, when we took my friend's Scottish Aviation Bulldog in for the Night Shoot - and got to see a lot of the history relating to the Polish Squadrons based there during the war. Blue skies, Iain
  13. And the other long-dormant Spit: Following a prod from my good friend @Phartycr0c I dug this project - along with the Mk.IX - off the shelf at the office for a coat of looking at. I have three boxes in total - contents all a bit random/mixed up now since the third was completed as a two-seater - so it's a bit of a 'Time-Team' dig. But - I *think* there are still all the parts needed to finish this one, as well as the Mk.IX. I've moved from the original Edgar Brooks Spitfire Tribute Group Build to here - with the plan of working on the two remaining Tamiya Spits over lunch-times when I'm in the office. So, hopefully, pick up with some updates in the next few weeks... Iain
  14. OK - so following a prod from my good friend @Phartycr0c I dug this project - along with the PR Mk.XI conversion - off the shelf at the office for a coat of looking at.
