I think I fall into both camps! I do like it, and it is a bit different. I'll get one at some point.

But I am still disappointed as there are just so many vastly more interesting WWI subjects to choose from that I would have loved to see first.

My first thought on seeing this was that it was entirely chosen because of its lack of rigging.

🤔yep
Fall into both camps on this one.
No rigging is a plus for beginners. Corrugated iron what’s not to like...
Back to basics.
Oh well Blackburn Kangaroo/ Late Staaken /Caproni - next time😭😜

Which is very different to their previous release

I like it as a subject just fine, but my wallet and I are glad its not one Im that interested in. As noted on FB, I am happy for those who are happy about it!     Its just like the Dolphin except a bit less so for me; interesting subject in a lot of ways, but there are SO many other kits out there I want, that even with WnWs superior build quality, I probably would skip it.

Phew! No RFC roundels so my credit card lives to fight another day! But a fascinating and very important aircraft historically, so great choice, WNW!

My Father told me two things would happen as I got older.
I can't remember either of them....

Congratulations to those who voted "OTHER" or who said whatever the new release will be, it will be something from left field that no one envisioned.

I think this qualifies for that.

Will they never given me a CAUDRON?!  They are such interesting planes!

Maybe next time!

The D-1 reminds me of my first WWl aircraft kit, an Aurora SE5. I hadn’t yet built a biplane and was too scared to put on the upper wing, so it stayed a monoplane until I gained experience wit an Albatross which had one piece cabane struts an one piece v struts. By my Se5 looked a lot like the Junkers D-1 without the coregation.

So far, except for the Salmson, the Caudron has a big drawback in WnW's books : it's French ...
