Thank you for the review, and to Alistair for releasing the set. it has been asked for so vehemently since the kit was released that one wonders why it has taken so long.

Anyway, we now have our solution, and should see more OV-10s built in the future. And hopefully Alistair will have a lot of orders to fulfill :) .

Firstly a thanks to Andy for the review, he placed the first order and he is one of the very few that have ordered that lives in the UK.

So he received one of my two sets that I got produced as proto-types.

An update on progress for all other orders. I have just emailed the guys that managed to get in the first production batch that was ready, all orders are going out as first come first delivered.

The good news for all other customers with orders placed up to and including today and possibly a few tomorrow 2nd and 3rd May, all your sets will be mailed out by Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Please note that for other products and orders that I have mailed out recently the mail seems to be taking a LOT longer than it did a few years ago, I personally think that there are more security checks by all countries for goods entering, understandable in the crazy world we now live in. (thank goodness for modelling to bring some sanity to us all)

Some parcels are taking 3-4 weeks to get to Canada, USA and Australia etc. Also note all parcels are sent AIRMAIL, and there IS NO TRACKING on any.

Thanks guys for all the support, the Bronco has sold reasonably well within the first week or so of being on sale, I know it is expensive but that is mainly down to the pieces in the set, that being 6.

The good news is I am looking at doing a few more, and I have the second set off to get evaluated and costed by the caster tomorrow, so look out under vendors in the next few days for the announcement, it is a U.S. subject and it is in 1/32 scale.

cheers Ali

Hmmmm I hadn't considered a problem with the landing gear and went ahead in my merry ignorance and built my D as is... ok I'll start a pool now on when it collapses who wants in?

If you have used the plastic gear, most likely it won't collapse. What you will probably see is the a slight deflection towards the wing tips of the main landing gear legs, and the wheels taking a pronounced camber angle as the axles progressively flex under the weight of the kit. Another forecasted outcome however if you have used the white metal copy of a certain manufacturer :( ...

A final physics reminder for all. Even if you put some weight in the nose to get the kit on its three wheels, the brunt of the kit weight will be carried by the main landing gear, not the front one ...

Hubert is 100% correct. The OOB gear wont collapse, it will likely do exactly what mine did, which is exactly what Hubert described.   I have glass shelves in my display case, and after I built my D model, I put it in the case as it was.............
Now fast forward a few years later, and the MLG have now splayed out by several degrees.

The best way to combat this if you dont have the brass replacement gear yet is to put a few degrees of positive camber on the main wheels as you glue them to the gear. I realize this is probably easier said than done after the fact though.
Another thing that can help is to take some blue tak (AKA adhesive wall hanging putty) and roll a bit of it extremely flat then use a square/round tube or the like to cut out a very small flat section to fit under each MLG, and that will help counteract the splay of the main wheels and keep them where you put them when displaying the model.

Im seriously considering replacing the OOB gear on my D model as the splay is getting pretty bad even with blue tack.
