DugyB Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Awesome work, love it. But I gotta admit I was trying REAL hard to look at your scratch building skills with that door, I couldn’t see it. And did you use masks for the canopy? Looks so clean… Shoggz 1

Looks so clean… Why do you think I took all the photos from one side Dugy? - my new door was OK, just a bit crude. Thank you for your very kinds words. Yeah, I used a Montex mask set for the canopy and the US insignia on the wings. I was going to use the masks for the fuselage, but got my masking regime mixed up and ended up using the decals on the fuselage. DugyB 1
Shoggz Posted April 12, 2024 Author Posted April 12, 2024 I really need to take my WIP threads to a new level and explain what I'm doing as I go, rather than just taking pictures - it's all a learning curve!
mozart Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Congratulations on a fine looking build Rich, looks every inch a P47 to me. Minor setbacks like missing bits are just a day to day part of the modeller's life and scratch-building replacements isn't too hard if you give it all enough thought and preparation. dennismcc Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 That certainly captures the powerfull and rugged looks of the P47 to a T. Cheers Dennis Shoggz and Furie 2
Dpgsbody55 Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Very nice. Looks every inch like a P-47. Cheers, Michael Shoggz 1
Furie Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 (edited) Wow Richard, congratulations on a truly superb P-47. I can't see any flaws from my chair, and the NMF paintwork is truly sumptuous! This is really the kind of assembly that can make me decide to build a P-47. Congratulations Richard, you've put on a great show! I've said it before, but you're making progress model after model. JeepsGunsTanks Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Very nice JUG! I love Warbirds with Naked Ladies on them. Sometimes, the men who fought and won WWII get portrayed as flying saints, and while I object to them being portrayed in movies like Fury, they did like the ladies and the drink. Besides, a Jug should have some Jugs on it! Shoggz 1
