Mike ,Eduard have said they are doing the p-51 in 32 so no point in them competting there . W e do how ever need more 109's to replace the hasegawa and revell offerings and finnally get some kits that dont need Am parts just to fix the whole front ends .So yeah a few more wont hurt .Along with a griffion or two and the odd seafire . A Typhoon would be up there as well . But keeping on track i hope they choose some intresting marking options

I would agree completely Wayne,  'after' the 51B/C.

Variations of the 109, Spitfire, etc. would not make

as much money for them as the Mustang.

Sorry Mike - Eduard have stolen the program here.

 

Besides, my hairdressers neighbours cousin heard that the next Kotare release will be a Spitfire Mk II, or maybe a Mk I (late). They are still drawing straws apparently.

Mike, lest we not forget there could be 2 -51B/Cs headed our way. Z-M and Eduard. So is there going to be room for 3 of them ? IF Kotare decided to do a B/C and that's a mighty big if, they'll be competing with the other 2 companies and that will cut into their[Kotare] profit margins . by the same token ,I don't believe Kotare will venture too far into -109 land. I'd say go after the Griffon engine marks  as there's no real competition out there and the lane is wide open for them to make a killing.

Fair points, but also consider:

 

1) These are both years away, and that's assuming they even make it to market

2) Z-m's style does have its followers, but I think it also puts a lot of people off; I think there are more modellers in the 'Hasegawa congregation' than in Z-m's; Kotare seems to me Hasegawa 'style' in their kit structure and build, just a generation (and then some) better; I don't think there is much potential cross-over between Kotare and Z-m here

3) Eduard seem to be somewhere in between, and maybe it's not fair to judge any future 1/32 on existing 1/48, but what else do we have? If I had to guess it would seem like you will get surface detail and perhaps complexity of kit at the sacrifice of engineering and fit; much more of an overlap, but until i actually see Eduard produce something that has engineering and fit like a Tamiya 1/32, I'm probably going to go with a Kotare offering if they both produce the same thing 

 

Either way, after what felt like a bit of lull in the 1/32 world, I am quite excited these days!

I disagree.  A Primo line of G-6/AS, G-14/AS, G-10 is what is needed and what will sell.  We've spent enough time fixing Revell and Hasegawa trash...  not to mention the crap from Trumpeter.
