It's got to be one of the most popular subjects out there that does not currently have a good (or available) LSP version. RBrown Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 There is a fellow posting on Hyperscale about a 1/32 Hellcat in the works. He did assist GWH with references for their P-40, so he does have an association with a company that has recently released a 1/32 scale aircraft. D Bellis, nmayhew, Fanes and 1 other 4
LSP_Mike Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 I think the GWH P40 is the top of the mark for that version, but way overpriced. A Hellcat would likey be (read:maybe)to a similar standard, but again, just too expensive. You mileage will vary, of course. Rick Griewski and Fanes 2

I'll believe it when I see it , been hearing the same old song and dance now for nearly 3 years ,though I know it takes a while to get this stuff done. I certainly hope it makes the light of day. jwest21 1
LSP_Mike Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Agreed. The 1970s Hasegawa kit is still arguably the best kit of a Hellcat. Not much of an endorsement of a newer company, but there it is.

Shape looks good and it has a folded wings option, essential for a Navy aircraft (unless you want to hang it from the ceiling). The Hasegawa kit looks like a pretty featureless blob of plastic to me, so I must be missing something. Tony D Bellis 1

If you look at the windshield, you will see how it is too large in width. Currently the best option is asking for joining the Trumpeter wings and the Hasegawa fuselage. Thanks for your constructive response Thierry. I don't want one enough to buy two kits (though the Trumpeter NF version looked appealing — till now!). Am not that familiar with propellery things but do like the classic metal monoplanes. Tony Christa and CRAZY IVAN5 2
LSP_Mike Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 I can say the Hasegawa kit is a solid build, and basic model skills go a long way towards enhancing the kit. The Kotare Kurfurst looks very good. CRAZY IVAN5, Christa, Archimedes and 4 others 7

Based on the contents of the box I don't think that's over priced. esarmstrong, rafju and CRAZY IVAN5 3
