All-

Here's a little teaser of @Eli Raphael and Zotz's next decal sheet, which will hopefully be available when the new 1/32 HK A-20J/K is released! As our previous A-20G sheet covered PTO Havocs, we wanted to do some ETO birds, which the A-20J/K is the perfect canvas for (this variant was not deployed to the Pacific). Stay tuned for further information, but here's a couple profiles to whet your appetite!

Goosie Susie is the one that sold me - well done.

Goosie was a tough one for us. We fell in love with the nose art, but couldn't, for the life of any research we did, high and low, find her serial number. So, we just supplied one. The modeler should feel compelled to use whatever serial number they want!

There were several other aircraft we fell in love with, and really, REALLY wanted to provide decals for, but we just couldn't find enough identifying information to feel confident supplying them on the sheet. You'll see mention on our sheet about the lack of documentation available for these A-20J/K's... they were only supplied to a handful of squadrons, and those squadrons, while they took excellent crew photos that are super sharp and show the nose art beautifully... didn't document serial numbers, fuselage codes, or even get the aircraft data block in photos for us poor modelers to have access to 80+ years later. The nerve... :P

We were fortunate for most of them to have access to several clear photos showing serial numbers, fuselage codes, nose art, or when certain aspects weren't available in photos, others had supplied the necessary data for us to recreate what we needed to accurately. We're very excited about this sheet, and think all of these options will look stunning on the upcoming HK kit.

Ultimately, because the A-20J/K wasn't deployed to the Pacific, we feel it's most appropriate for all of you to build two A-20's... one Pacific A-20G, and one European A-20J/K. And use Zotz decals on both, of course!

But wait, there's more! Here's another profile sheet, showing "Out Hell'N" with the correct color of bomb markings (white instead of yellow), and another featured aircraft, "The Rebel."

What are the chances of Zotz doing some A-20's with Soviet Markings?

We've considered the idea, but there weren't too many A-20G's that didn't receive some sort of conversion that isn't currently available, and they didn't operate the A-20J/K. If HK releases other versions of the A-20, or conversions become available, we may circle back and consider it. Our hope is to provide decals that can immediately be put onto existing kits with little or no conversion work necessary, or where the conversion is very straightforward (like the Spitfire XIV conversions).

Eli and I "converse" via social media several times a week, and on busy days, like today, we're in pretty constant contact for the majority of the work day. When we aren't fine tuning our upcoming sheets (like you've seen in this thread here, minor changes happen before release as we confirm with our photos and research), we are bouncing ideas off one another for future sheets. It's a fun process!

To your original question, I can say, never say never! The only thing we avoid are German subjects; it's a personal preference of the Zotz brand, and there's a dearth of available Luftwaffe subjects available in decal form. We're trying to release subjects that haven't been kitted before to keep things fresh and interesting! And as long as our manufacturers keep releasing new and exciting kits, we'll continue to be successful in that endeavor, we hope.

Here's some info on Soviet A-20's.  Apparently the Soviet Union did have some A-20J/K's on hand during the GPW (about 150, if I read correctly).  They also flew the A-20G, although it was subject to some conversion in some instances.     https://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/pages/lendlease/a-20/a-20.htm

Alright folks, here's the final cover art and profiles and some tweaks! These are off to the printers, and the decals themselves are in process. These should (hopefully) be available once the HK kit drops!
