Jim Barry Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) I had my S2F Tracker in my project track as my next scratchbuild but decided I might bore of it and lose interest. I don’t think that’ll be the case with this. Excited to add a jet to my 1/24 jones. That is a very rare thing in injection mold kit world (just the Harrier). I don’t expect very much 3D here, despite capabilities. Maybe landing gear? Edited December 9, 2025 by Jim Barry Victor K2, LSP_Kevin, airscale and 27 others 30
Uncarina Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Another scratchbuilt beauty on the way! I will love watching this. Cheers, Tom Martinnfb and Jim Barry 1 1

Uncarina Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 (edited) Go Jim go! This is looking like the base skeleton for a plank on frame ship model. Shipbuilders often add small wood pieces to the central spine between the contours to prevent warping, but you probably already knew this. In any case, I am looking forward to seeing this take shape! Jim Barry Posted November 29, 2023 Author Posted November 29, 2023 Lol. Lego crossed my mind too. Just trying to save model weight with balsa. Soon I’ll cover with epoxy clay. Can’t wait! Martinnfb, LSP_Kevin and Uncarina 3

Jim Barry Posted December 8, 2023 Author Posted December 8, 2023 Not my first rodeo with the 262. Here’s a little 1/100 scale scratchbuild featured in May 2017 Military Modeler magazine. It’s SO small! Greif8, Victor K2, Shoggz and 7 others 10
Jan Hascher Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) Hey guys, has anyone considered using a papermodel as a template for scratchbuilding? There a quite good researched these days and especially having all the fusalage formers is a benefit. Check this one out from Halinski: https://kartonmodellshop.de/messerschmitt-me-262a-1-schwalbe-1945-1-33-extrem.html With kind regards Jan Edited December 9, 2023 by Jan Hascher Martinnfb 1
MikeMaben Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Hello Jan I have one I bought years ago (Heinkel 100) but never got around to building it. Of course., since then an IM model has come out. It's a fine idea and doesn't look too difficult, I've seen paper models that were pretty amazing. Martinnfb 1
