LSP 2024 Group Build suggestion thread...

Righty-o gentlemen, it's that time of year again when I ask for suggestions for next years group builds.  As always when making a suggestion, please keep in mind two things; the availability of large scale kits and what group builds we have done recently, say in the last 7-8 years. We try not to repeat subjects too often.

That said, as the group build guy, I've made and executive decision that one of the GB's for next year will be; Imagination Land- The What If Group Build. There has been a few entries in GBs this year and some interest expressed so, lets do it. That will kick off on December 1st.

So over to you for 3 more GBs. Let me have it.

Admittedly, I did not bother to check what has come before, but these come to mind….

“That’s not what I meant”:  LSPs modeled for missions the planes were not originally designed for, such as firefighting or spray missions, search and rescue, research, air racing, R&D, maybe even a playground diorama.  Lots of options.  Must be supportable; no what-ifs allowed.

“Helos only”:  LSP rotary wing models.  No other limits.

”Saturday night at the movies”:  an LSP model of any flying device as it appeared in a movie except for the Top Gun movies - those airplanes have been done to death already.

”Demonstrators”:  LSP model of anything flown by any demonstration team anywhere on the planet.  Must be in team colors.

”Warboats”:  LSP model of any military flying boat, floatplane, or amphibian from WW1 or WW2

”Minis”:  the smallest LSP model you can find

”No Crewcuts”:  any LSP anybody wants to build as long as it has at least one well-dressed crew member  and/or support vehicle (in a nod to Kev’s tanker truck) posed in/with it.  Just posed together; no diorama needed.

Tamiya LSPs

Trumpeter LSPs

Aircraft with a nicknamed after a living creature:  Tomcat, Hellcat, Hornet, Eagle, Fighting Falcon, etc.

21st Century Conflicts:  aircraft involved in any conflict from Jan 1, 2001 - present ...... OEF, OIF, Libya, Ukraine, etc. (leaves out most prop options which many                                                people here seem to prefer so may be "limiting" in options)

How about a What If/Paper Project build? We have the Luft '46 planes, not to mention P-59 & Kikka, and the Soviet early jet projects from LEM Kits, the ZM Do335, Ho229, Shin Den, the Das Werk EF-126 and others I am sure I forgot. Also, the Pogo is due out soon, and any of the X or Y-series fighters would work, etcetera, etcetera.

D-Day is a good idea, although I will expand the idea a little more in to the Normandy Campaign just to give it a little more scope.

@LSP_Ray Luft'46 is covered in 'what if' so that's all good, even paper project aircraft in wartime front like markings is fine.

@Oldbaldguy Good ideas but there aren't many LSPs for most of the ideas for them to work here. That said we are probably due for another rotary wing GB.

@rigor not sure about wrecks as many people don't build modified, but we could perhaps put the option in to build something on a base.

@scott_t I like the animal theme and we did do Hasegawa LSPs this year so a manufacturer specific theme is always good.
