Outstanding work. Simply marvellous stuff!

Sometimes I wonder whether I should stick to 1/24 scale when quality like this is around the corner :hmmm:.

Every update puts a big smile on my face. Skilled individuals able to produce quality kits like this is a blessing for our hobby. I am still in awe of the quality of my Typhoon kit and with this being of the same super high quality, you can count me in for sure.

Are you going to start a separate thread for your Beaufighter kit? 😉😀

evening folks :)

thank you so much for your feedback :)

this is a big day for 1/32 Do17 fans - the final design for the Injection moulded parts has been approved and mould cutting starts next week, so this will definitely be a thing now. Hopefully test shots will be complete by September and perhaps full release by Telford which would be amazing

I have been on 15 hour days, 7 days a week for months and little remains to be designed so it has been time to start some test printing and assembly of the full cockpit - I ask myself sometimes if there is such a thing as too much detail, but no, if there is, I just ignore it... if I can see it in reference then it needs to be present..

the CAD images are the design with rough panel lines and rivets for the box art coming later, the moulded parts will be more finessed, while the test prints are low res fit tests so the design will evolve from here - for example I am not happy with the floor sections, there are some weak spots so back to the drawing board for that..

..the primary cockpit structure comprises thin wall lining and a floor section..

..then there are a bunch of components to add - I tried to make it more parts to aid painting :)

..the sidewalls and floor get filled up with bits..

..and mate with the floor..

..so the whole lot makes a cell that hopefully will fit in the IM parts without too many changes later..

..it has been a lot of hard work to get here, with multiple design revisions, but now, with 15 moulds about to be started, I feel I can relax for a bit and just fiddle about with the remaining parts and optimising fit, construction and print orientation

The idea that with enough time and money, the Holy Grail of 1/32 kits (for me anyway) can be realised is quite sobering :)

On a technical note, what resin do you use for your prints please Peter?

And your mind-boggling skill, ya dope!!!

I seriously doubt there's anyone at your level designing these kits.
