leoasman
I’m in with a Hellcat. I’m going to do this as a warmup before I start the HK A-20! Will be modeled in flight, mostly out of the box with the pilot figure from the Tamiya Corsair. dennismcc
Nice choice, I've got two of those in my display cabinet and enjoyed building them both. Cheers Dennis BiggTim
leoasman
Trying to be efficient and not get bogged down by the older design of the kit. Fuselage is together and I started working on the wings. The gun bay covers are glued and I think I’ve decided to use some extra .50 cal barrels I had rather than the kit guns which have no detail. Also, I’m leaning towards glueing the top wings to the fuselage first, then mount the bottom piece. I think I’ll get a stronger and cleaner bond, plus I should help set the wing dihedral. The design of the connection areas lend themselves well to clamping the upper wing to the fuselage to get a perfect fit.
themongoose
Those spare guns look like the Way to go! The stock ones really are barren. +1 to the wing idea
leoasman
Got the major construction done. Mostly a good fit, but I used some sprue stubs for exhaust as the kit exhausts are tiny and very fiddly. BradG, MikeC, Erwin and 8 others
