Rampenfest Posted March 29, 2023 Share Posted March 29, 2023 Hi all, Recently, I used Tamiya Lacquer clear gloss and flat and had issues with it frosting on my propeller blades. I have shot this in the past with no issues of frosting, and was wondering if anyone with more experience using it has any insight? I thinned it about 50/50 with Tamiya’s Lacquer Thinner and was shooting around 15 PSI. I am wondering if the air was “swirling” around the props and bouncing off/drying again versus when I am spraying a flat large area like a wing. Thanks! LSP_Kevin Posted March 30, 2023 Share Posted March 30, 2023 Frosting in clear flat paints tends to be sign that the contents are getting a little old, and the flatting agent is beginning to settle out of solution. I also had to stir it a very long time as there was a “sediment” at the bottom that needed to be stirred and mixed back into the solution. Thank you for the info!
