Greif8
Below is the Meng Fokker Dr.I that I completed today. The majority of my aircraft builds focus on a minor ace or unknown pilot or the ground crew. This build is a major exception to that as the Meng kit came with a 1/10 scale bust of Manfred von Richthofen and I have had a Model Cellar 1/32 figure of the baron for quite some time now; so I decided to build his iconic all red Fokker Dr.I 425/17, the aircraft he flew his final sortie in on 21 April 1918. I used Aviattic fabric decals but oversprayed them with a red color that I mixed. Other aftermarket items I used on this build include Gaspatch Spandau machineguns, 1/48 turnbuckles and eyelets. I also used a HGW seatbelt. This was mostly a fun build, the Meng kit goes together well, and the finished model will make a nice addition to the other WWI aircraft that I have previously built. On to the photos. First up, some general shots. The baron and his Fokker. Some mid-range shots. A few macros. And my attempt to combine the bust and the Dr.I.
