Jim Barry
I have like 9 builds in progress, which is crazy, but I seem to tending the garden ok, pruning and picking away at the trees. The Orion however has been begging for attention “Finish me!” so while some paint is on order for the Phantom, I’ll give it some love. Jim Barry
This masking step was really putting off progress. I just thought it was going to be so hard. It was not hard at all. scvrobeson, chrish, A-10LOADER and 4 others
Jim Barry
Yes! This worked out great. The P-3C flew over my town, Brunswick, Maine for over 40 years. It’s so familiar, so it feels good to see an old friend again. Cheetah11, johncrow, chukw and 10 others
Rod Bettencourt
Very cool Jim. I was stationed at Brunswick 93-94 flying (Aircrew) the mighty. What squadron you thinking of doing? Rod Jim Barry
A-10LOADER
I know how you feel. We had two reserve squadron's here, VP-64 & 66, at Willow Grove until the base closed in 2010. Steve Jim Barry
Jim Barry
Rod, That’s great. I’d like to do VP-10 Lancers, because a good friend (Capt. JB Hollyer (Pilot) flew with them in the 80s. He went on to Pax River Testing programs (like the Maverick missile). But….I think I’d have hunt some decals. (Or make ‘em). I might just do the box decals, we’ll see. Jim Barry
Do not underestimate the toil finishing the props. There are 32 sides with 5 “lines” on each making 160 edges. For the red, I painted tape (Tamiya) which seems to be working well keeping me sane. johncrow, chukw, Sasha As and 3 others

It’s just SO MUCH aircraft. I’m nearing decal stage now. Yippee! (Note wildcat in Late ww2 ASW role). Going to Brunswick now to visit static display P-3C there. It has a credible repaint but it’s missing a lot of details. Neptune there too. It’s really hurting. aircommando130
I like the P-3. The navy had them at Kadena when I was there. Every once in awhile there'd be a EP-3 parked among them. Same engine and basically the same prop as the MC-130 I flew but it had a different sound. Your P-3 is looking good. We'll see it decaled up soon. Cheers....Ron Jim Barry
Jim Barry
Yeah the c-130 guys and the P-3 guys always say it's the other plane with the engine upside down! I have many 80's teenager memories watching them fly overhead in early evening on their landing approaches, lights flaring, flaps down returning from who knows what Cold War mission they were on tracking Soviet Yankee and Delta SSBNs off the Atlantic seaboard. Scary days. (I do not think the Typhoon class did patrols on the East coast) and now even those monsters are all gone.
