looking incredible Pete - good luck with the canopies, your approach is spot on I reckon

i have no idea why Revell made them the framed version that literally only 50 aircraft had..

Thanks! And great question Peter-

I was hoping I could talk Ali into doing them..but he is swamped with work-

cheers

Seems relatively normal for the rear observer/gunner to only have a lap belt. I think the Stuka had the same.

Your work is exemplary Pete, but we all knew that.

Thanks Matt-

As far as I can tell, just a lap belt for the observer- I’ve reached the end of the internet it seems

Makes sense I guess?

cheers

Great work Pete, your stuff is truly amazing.    On a side note - do you happen to recall what size rivets you used on your previous HH-60 build (to cover the exterior of the fuselage)?  I dove through the build log last night but could find any info.

Hi John,

 thanks!

I had Woody custom-make me rivets for that project. I gave him the size and spacing and he made me a few A4 sized sheets. That covered most of the airframe, and I used several different stock Archer sheets to fill in details like circular rivets patterns etc.

I know that’s not a direct answer to your question, but I think I still have the measurements for diameter and spacing that I took from an actual Pavehawk- let me dig around a bit. The spacing is from rivet center to rivet center; not the gap between rivets

cheers

Pete

Thanks all for the encouraging words!

…poured the female mold for the canopy just now. We’ll see how it turned out in a few hours

just simple 1:1 mold rubber. Remember to cover the male pattern with mold release before you pour the rubber. Both these get poured into a red Solo cup and mixed before pouring into the mold

the mold box is simply a container for some Tapcon screws I had lying around
