Perhaps others can chime in with more details. I think the only issue would be the height of the fuselage where it meets the vertical tail. The XVI would be lower than either the VIII or IX kits. The VIII kit also would have the retractable tail wheel assembly as part of the fuselage but that could be a non-issue depending on where the new tail gets grafted on. I think I read that once he's done with the XVI conversion, he'll do another one specific to the VIII and IX kits. Dennis7423
Here's the latest update from our friend on Facebook, and a few photos he posted as well: "Happy new year SpitFans, may 2023 brings you happiness, health, … and a few Spitfires on your bench. The new year break has been great but I still have managed to add some outfits to the model. The nose has been improved on the blades, which have now a metal front tip texture, Exhaust pipes and details on the stack were created, and the carburator intake, with its filter damper was added. The tail panels have been textured and riveted, and the karman panel added. Next update should feature some fresh printed parts hopefully !" - Dennis S. Tony T
It does look nice. Might just have to get a Tamiya Spitfire for this. Not usually a WW2 person but I grew up at bases where Spitfires served as Gate Guards, so it's part if my childhood. Tony Kagemusha

jenshb
Definitely looking forward to this. STarted a XIV conversion using the Mk. XVI kit, and was hoping to integrate the Grey Matter nose. That didn't work out.

Rick Griewski
Are we getting access to this soon!? My credit card has to know what this is going to cost. I have an “extra” donor kit in the the stash. Could not figure out or remember if why I have it until now. CRAZY IVAN5

I was thinking that maybe the conversion was going to be ~ $110 U.S. but that's a wild guess . If it comes in lighter I'm a happy mammal If ya don't want to keep your Merlins just launch 'em my way!
