denders
Well, I used my Cameo cutter to cut 8 rings of .010" plastic to glue together to make a cowling support ring to attach the supports to. There are a total of 12 support rods. themongoose, Gazzas, Landrotten Highlander and 5 others
Greif8
Nice progress Dave! It will be interesting to follow your scratchbuilding of the support for the cowling. Ernest
denders
Thanks, Ernest. It's progressing slowly. It's morning which means I've had my coffee (half-caffeinated) which doesn't help my less than perfectly steady hands. One support at a time. Juggernut
Interesting! I never knew the cameo could cut plastic (I suppose I did read it in passing but forgot).... Thanks for that tidbit, I may use that some time. I like the engineering you're putting into this kit build.
denders
Well, here's the engine. Neither the engine nor the cowling is fixed in place. I didn't glue the cowling because I was afraid that after all was said and done with the engine, the cowling wouldn't slide over the engine, and I would have to glue the cowling around the engine. The cowling does slide over the engine. And since the cowling is one color, black, I can attach it and the engine as a last item after painting, etc. Dave patricksparks, themongoose, Landrotten Highlander and 19 others

I also made some comments over there in my thread asking about cutting .032 plastic about what settings I used for the 0.10 that I did use and my mistakes. denders
One last blast with primer to check the filled areas and then if it's okay, a full coat of primer and polishing before metal.
