Thanks guys!

Thanks for cleaning up my multi-thread mess Kev!

After a bit of surface prep and some priming it's time for fun!

After a base coat of MRP Giallo Mimetico, I'd planned on tracing the patterns from the instruction sheet, and transferring it to the wing surface as a guide for the green.

This didn't work as I'd hoped.

A little while later, it occurred to me that perhaps the somewhat glossy finish of the paint wasn't helping the cause.

A quick coat of MRP Super Matt and the guide transfered much better

Then it was just a case of coloring in between the lines-ish.

Here can be seen the high-tech stand used to hold the model. A mineral spirits bottle and some blu-tac. Perfect-o.

The only hinderance was paint build up on the needle.

Regular wipe offs with a rag cured that.

And that brings us to where it currently stands

It's a really unusual paint scheme and has had a few people asking If I'd gotten the colours back to front

Not according to the photo of this actual aircraft

More tonight.

Im tempted to squirt on the red/brown that goes inside the yellow blotches, just to see how it's going to look.

Either way, I'll pop on the headphones, crank up a spotify Playlist and hit the spray booth.

Good times :D

Thanks guys!

Keeping the model secured so both hands could be used to steady the airbrush made life significantly easier.

Also, spreading the painting out over 4 sessions helped the fatigue!

Using tracing paper to transfer the scheme onto the model made life much easier than trying to maintain "consistent" size of the. Covering all the main surfaces, then matching up between and now it looks like this

Yes, the tail feathers have been painted :D

I'm enjoying this far more than I thought I would, the MRP paints have been behaving beautifully :D

Tonight, its time to finish with the red dots!
