Parts layout looks good, shape looks good of what's been previewed, modular design is clever, surface detailing looks too wide and toylike ala the Italeri Tornado. Of which I've got 3.

I don't think we should be seeing a modern company producing kits with surface detailing like that shown. Tamiya, GWH, Trumpeter, Academy, WNW/Kotare, Border, Revell, HKM have all shown a higher standard in new 1/32 releases. Whilst there isn't a price attached to this kit to date, I don't think you'll see much change out of £200 which puts it directly competing with some of these manufactors similar sized kits.

I'll still buy one of these as I'd like a -B without fighting a 90's Tamiya kit.

Fair enough. If the Fly Su-7BMK turns into reality next year I'm anticipating a £150 price with short-run surface detail and fit quality, but it's on the wanted list like the F-4B so I'm getting it regardless — though the F-4B looks like it'll go together very well, albeit at £200-250 a box — the norm now for planes with two engines — and be a fun build.

Sadly, Tamiya hasn't produced a new 1:32 jet kit in nearly twenty years, Academy and HKM nothing in the last decade, Trumpeter's look the same quality of finish to me but without anywhere near the accuracy shown by RPM, Infinity came and went, leaving the variable Fly and value-for-money Revell as the exceptions. We don't yet know whether the Revell Meteor F.8 will be a wonky fight with plastic like the Super Hornets or a fine kit like their Hunter, or DACO's Magister.

But there's so little in the way of 1:32 new tool Cold War jets these days that I am, perhaps, not as discriminating about surface finish just out of sheer joy at seeing something new!

Thanks for sharing the link.

Looks generally promising although the surface detail seems relatively coarse? Hard the really gauge though.

You are welcome. We will have more detailed information and photos soon.

Thanks Haluk  :hi:

A very curious model. I am happy to have the chance to contact the manufacturers one-on-one. I will come back with more detailed information.

Indeed, likely nothing will change from the mold process when heading to production......but for me it is all about the accuracy of the kit. While I don't want gravely texture all over a new model, if it is a highly accurate kit, I can easily overlook things like texture.

You and I pretty much feel the same way. As far as surface texture goes , it's pretty easily dealt with if it's that much of an issue [gotta have plastic in hand]. The Phantom most probably will be in the expensive seating section[ big plane ,lots of plastic]. And like you I'll be getting the SU-7 regardless. Cold war jets ,hell, aircraft[from any country] are my cup 'o tea, bring it on!

Sorry but I'm out at €340 ($386.23 as of 5-7-2025, 08:48 am).  I am not adverse to spending that kind of money on a kit but I'm just not in that crowd for the F-4 Phantom.  It does sound like it will be a nice kit.

Yes, there can be a lot of talk about the price. But considering the box content and the quality of the parts, I believe it is really worth the money. It feels good to save a little and add this model to your collection.

I absolutely wish you success with the release of this kit and hope the sales are great, but no matter what is in the box, there is no way I am going to pay $400-ish for a single kit. This is simply a personal choice, and quite honestly a difficult one to make. I was really looking forward to getting a few, and even stocked up on AOA decals for USMC F-4B's, but I simply can't at that price point.

If you click on the link above (if you haven't) there are some pictures and blurb. But I know what you all mean, some sprue shots and/or decals, weapons or stores would be nice to see. Tis a chunk of cash though. Makes my JETMADS SAAB Viggen seem cheap.........

Is that the pre-tariff price, or does that include markups for tariffs?  If you have to add another $100 or so on top, that’s going to be a killer.

Good luck

I hope the F-4B conversion sets for the Tamiya kit will be reprinted
