I'll take a little coarseness if it means I don't have to spend hours grinding off the Tamiya "BDR" patches , Life is to short for that

Generally I rather like the look of the kit , and lets face it any new 32nd Scale F-4 model is something we've wanted for a long long time

Thanks for sharing the link.

Looks generally promising although the surface detail seems relatively coarse? Hard the really gauge though.

I look at that and think Italeri Tornado. The surface modelling/detailing looks very similar.

The Phantom did look pretty much like that, the Tornado didn't. Hey, it's an F-4B !

And I welcome the detail where it matters, avoiding the current fashion of an unbuttoned aircraft undergoing a mechanical autopsy. Aircraft are about shape and form. Jets, sleek shape and form. Skin intact.

And thanks for posting the update Haluk. Really appreciated and much encouraging.

Same. Probably a no-go for me if that’s the case.

This also might not be the last iteration before the actual production version either.

Maybe but the parts are injection molded rather than 3DP as you can see the injector pins and sprue gates and I doubt there will be an overhaul of the molds at this point.

It's a model kit and purchase isn't compulsory. I don't subscribe to the divot look either, but nothing a bit of filler can't handle. The real F-4 featured a lot of fuselage panels held in place by fasteners, not quick-release as on, say, an F-15, or flush riveted and puttied like a Hawker Hunter, which had few innards that required regular access. The model's panel lines look perfectly satisfactory to my eye, so I will most definitely be buying.

Remember, for many this isn't just an airplane kit. some of us are looking forward to getting a 1:32 new tool F-4 with all the shapes apparently spot-on, including correctly shaped and proportioned canopy, inlet and engine nozzles, and without fuselage scabs or outer wings with excessive dihedral. Even from what little we've seen, this small company venture is very clearly leaps ahead of 1990s efforts by the big boys and deserves our support.

I don't know why your replying to my comment with this, I was discussing technical details of mold production.

Were you? Are you pleased or disappointed with what you've seen of the kit?

Parts layout looks good, shape looks good of what's been previewed, modular design is clever, surface detailing looks too wide and toylike ala the Italeri Tornado. Of which I've got 3.

I don't think we should be seeing a modern company producing kits with surface detailing like that shown. Tamiya, GWH, Trumpeter, Academy, WNW/Kotare, Border, Revell, HKM have all shown a higher standard in new 1/32 releases. Whilst there isn't a price attached to this kit to date, I don't think you'll see much change out of £200 which puts it directly competing with some of these manufactors similar sized kits.

I'll still buy one of these as I'd like a -B without fighting a 90's Tamiya kit.
