I must admit that the first completed builds popping up are actually looking pretty nice.

I am not a big fan of their cockpit choices nor their metal landing gear but it can be built into a really nice looking F-4B in my opinion..  but the price.. yanks

Thanks for the link. That sells it to me — not that I'd be able to complete one with such finesse, but the fit of parts is such that I would only be able to blame myself if it didn't turn out tickety-boo.

 

I may now sidestep the new Airfix 1:48 Spey Toom offering to help underwrite a Redpill 1:32 F-4B. As yet, no fiscal damage assessment from the big H:

This is how it actually looked on the 1966-67 cruise during which it got its AN-2 kill. The illustration is incorrectly based on its appearance during the follow-on 1967-68 cruise, after receiving Shoehorn modifications.
