I'm interested in doing a FY68 hard wing E with Falcons, but need the CR codes, Wolfhounds insignia and maybe 17th AF badge too. Re: RPM F-4B, we've yet to see the plastic trees and a complete build, tyres and the decal options. A lot of variables yet. No dead horses as far as I can see; more like a game of chicken and I'm still full throttle. Remember €340 looks to be the pre-order price. Even then, I'm guessing €110 extra with import VAT and postage to the land-of-UK. I seem to be in the small group of the committed surrounded by sceptics, but Cold War jets are my thing. F-4B, Hunter T.7 and Meteor F.8 all this year. Pretty amazing, if expensive. Tony Oh I hear ya ,brother ! I'm a big cold war jet fan , but I gotta be able to afford the dang thing. TBH I'm NOT a huge F-4 fan except for the M and K[ fat chance anybody will do those ]. I'm on board and ready for the new Revell stuff[ F.8 Meteror and T.7 hunter] Though I'm not in the market for the RPM -4 , I am curious as to why if the surface texture/scribbing isn't up to snuff why bother . Just because it's an F-4 B? Wouldn't enough motivation to fork out BIG bucks YMMV.

For the codes and serial number I made masks with a silhouette cutter, and the 32nd TFS and 17th AF badges were printed with a laser printer. Do not waste your money on the Dutch Decal set, it's horrible in terms of color and opacity, especially for the 32nd badge and the codes are way too dark grey. Shoot me a PM, I will be happy to print and cut a set for you. If you already know the serial number for the machine you have in mind I can alter the file to accommodate. Kagemusha and Tony T 1 1
thierry laurent Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Actually only two complex wrong features of the Revell kit were never corrected by any aftermarket set: the transition between the rear engine fairings and the center of the belly has a step whereas the full scale plane had a smooth transition and the canopy cross section is too flat and somewhat reminds the F-4A. Everything else can be easily corrected or replaced by aftermarket. Years ago I made masters to correct most remaining issues but not for these two as both were too complex to cast... Bill Cross Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I'll pass-- for now. There are too many unknowables at this point to sink that much into a kit. I hope this isn't a short run where like Jetmads, if you don't buy in advance, you're SOL. I'm not adverse to paying that much for a kit that's 90% ready OOB. But if there is still a bunch of AM needed, then it loses its appeal for me. Mr.T, Gary Needham, CRAZY IVAN5 and 2 others 5
