Has anybody heard what kind of markings will be offered ? I may have missed it if it was mentioned

I don't believe they have determined this yet.

Gotcha,I'd like to do this in soviet markings , they used a lot of them

And, looks like converting them wouldn't be too terribly involved, if at all. I know some were converted back to cannons, and if you're feeling really saucy, ask Lemkits real nicely to send you a turret from their Su-2 kit to really make it Soviet.

I agree with you ,does look a little heavy . My guess it'll "tone down " some after a coat of primer and paint.

I think that the manufacturers producing these high end kits realise that we, I wont say anal modellers (oopps, I just did) will apply a few coats of paint - primer, colour, gloss coat, decals and then a mat coat, and are slightly exaggerating details to suit our finishing methods.

I quite agree, I'm not one to do pin washes or post shading [ personal preference] but to those who do , it'll work out for them

Did someone say D-Day stripes:

i'm guessing the protrusions under the belly were for a smoke generator in the bomb bay to make smoke screens during D Day.

Hi Finn, the A-20's in the links are marked for operation Starkey not D-day stripes. Easy way to tell is that the Starkey stripes are black/white/black/white/black whereas D-day stripes are white/black/white/black/white. Also white nose is a giveaway as well. Whirlwinds and Typhoons also participated in Op. Starkey.

Never heard of that Op before, thanks. Back to the subject of A-20's, here is another RAF one:

Any idea what's hanging down from the bomb bay in the second photo here?
