Thanks guys!  The pastel wash continues on the top side.  I elected to use a dark, almost black, brown color for the top.

Here's what the top side looks like after the wash.

After the wash is completed, I covered the entire model with a coat of Model Master Acryl Flat Clear.

The cowling has been given a pastel wash, followed by a flat coat.

A trip to the light box checks our progress after the flat coat phase.

Thanks guys! It's time to remove the tissue paper masking from the wheel wells.

I don't want to forget the install the drain pipe that I fabricated a few months back.

With the prop and flaps added, a few more shots with different lighting.  The photo box tends to exaggerate the grey frosting effect from the flat finish that really isn't as pronounced in real life.

When I grow up I want to be able to paint and weather as good as you do John.

Yeah really.  For my next project (a natural finish ETO P-51D), unlike my current project (dirty dusty stained bleached F4U), I will not be able to hide behind the natural imperfections of such a used and abused airframe.  Gotta up my game WRT exterior finishing.  Thunnus shows us how its done.

Here is a preliminary look at the engine after the wiring work was completed.

Am about to start the engine on my build and I though why not go waaaay back to page 7 and see how you did it.  A couple of moments after I gazed at this picture I stumbled across a picture from the Vought archives taken from almost the same angle.  Perfect replication.  Thanks for paving the way.  No way is mine going to be as nice, but I'll certainly try :)
