Viewing jpg images?

It sounds like these are indeed broken image links, in which case, the images in question are simply missing and can't be viewed. Sometimes images go missing temporarily, due to issues with the server or provider that's hosting them. And sometimes you're prevented from viewing some images due to a firewall blocking them - when you're at work, for example (this is usually domain-specific, and won't affect all images). The last - and increasingly common - scenario that causes images not to be displayed is called the 'mixed content' issue. Basically, this means that some browsers will no longer display an image hosted on a server without SSL (indicated by a 'http' URL) on a site that does use SSL (indicated by a 'https' URL).

One way to check what's going on is to right-click on the image and open it in a new tab or window. If it opens and displays correctly, that usually indicates that it's a mixed-content issue (you can verify by checking if the image link starts with 'http' rather than 'https'). If instead you receive a message about the server or image not being found (the latter often indicated by the '404' error code), then it's simply a broken link, and there's not much you can do about that, unfortunately.
