dennismcc
Happy for you guys who wanted the later turreted version but I'll pass on this one, I've enough kits in the stash already anyway. Cheers Dennis
ade rowlands
Did the RAAF use this version? I like to slap Roundels on things. npb748r and Artful69

IIRC the answer is both a yes and a no … The RAAF we’re equiped with some A-20Gs … solid nose with armament, but without the turret equiped for the rear gunner / observer - having to make do with the old set up … Im waiting to see some sprue shots of the fuse’ … if there is a sizeable chunk of plastic missing from the upper rear observers position - to be inserted by parts supplied on another sprue … that is the best indicator (besides the separate nose piece) that the kit is being designed for multiple versions. The changes to aircraft design over the variants lend themselves to a modular style model construction. Even if there was no initial intent to make other variants - creating a modular assembly design leaves that door open for future boxings - which HK seem to like doing! Rog D.B. Dave Williams
I think the upper fuselage insert in the turret area will be the key for determining if they plan to do earlier versions. The separate nose piece may not mean much because they made the A-20J with the glass nose, which I’m betting they will also release.

Rog Thanks Rog, I thought it was something along the lines of yes to Gun Nose but no to a Turret. I shall hold off on purchase/pre order for the now then. ChuckD
Gah. Just checked out the modeling news cad and test shot pics. This might be one of those "clear the bench" builds for me. I have an incredible soft spot for Pacific war gunships. Vandy 1 VX 4
Dennis7423
From what I read, they extensively studied and scanned the only current flying A-20G at American Aero Services. So, this looks to be a slam-dunk, accurate release. Well done, HK! Sure to be another great seller. - Dennis S. Mount Juliet, TN USA npb748r, D.B. Design looks absolutely beautiful though!! At least one for me! Rog Edited November 12, 2022 by Artful69 Rick Griewski and Scotsman
