Archimedes
That is absolutely right up there with the best Mike. This is a truly masterful representation of a much underrated WWI fighter. Your detail work is superlative. Kind regards, Paul
dutik
Stunnig build and paintjob Looks like visibility from the cockpit must have been somewhat limited with the wings right to your left and right. Also the access into and out. Could have been a benefit to have been working as a circus artist before... Interesting construction, indeed. Thank you for sharing! - dutik

Thank you for sharing! - dutik Yes access to the cockpit was very restricted - access to the cockpit was from the fuselage top at the rear of the cockpit. In fact the bracing wires at the left side of the cockpit had a quick release fastener fitted. This was to allow the pilot to escape through that side of the cockpit frame in the event of a crash. The bracing wires on the right side of the cockpit did not have this, as a Lewis machine gun was often fitted there and blocked exit from that side. Various methods of protecting the pilot in the event of a ground loop were tried, including wing hoops and a full protection frame.
