Gazzas
Welcome back my friends. With the few hours not stolen from me by life's duties, I managed to get some things done. First of all...I sanded the dorsal and ventral seams. So that I won't have to scribe them later. I hate scribing... especially on a curved surface. Once that was done, I filled an excess filler port with black CA and discovered the first flaw.... Unfortunately, there is one on the port side as well. I'll get to them once the fuselage halves are solidly joined. Last night I put in the bare bones of the fuselage framing. Somebody mentioned being forced to add the tail gear before closing up the fuselage. It's just not so. All you have to do is swing it in at the correct angle so that the top and bottom locator lugs fit snugly. 6 Then you just add the fillet H-6 per the directions, as I have done below. (dry-fitted) You can even add the fuselage tub after sealing the back half together.... Though, I didn't use the fuel cell which may complicate things for the more detail-oriented person... though I doubt it. Happy modelling! themongoose, Pastor John, Alain Gadbois and 26 others

One person sees an occurrence and assumes it occurred all of the time. Whereas another person saw another occurrence and refuses to believe any other occurrence is possible. I'd be interested in seeing pictures of seatbelts with those large numbers printed. I'm just saying that I've never seen anything like that posted before. If you know of any pictures that back up HGW's interpretation of those markings, please feel free to post. Gazzas and Martinnfb
monthebiff
Excellent progress Gaz, just checked mine and suffers from the same sink marks, bit of a shame! Regards. Andy Martinnfb and Gazzas 1

Gazzas
Didja buy it yet? I had mentally heralded the single-piece stabilizer as some great engineering. After years of wiggling and adjusting, finally a flat tailplane. But once I got to dry-fitting the entire empennage, the future wasn't looking so bright. My first thought was that this model had just become a G6 instead of a G14. So, I assembled the short horizontal stabilizer and discovered it wasn't very much different than the taller tail. My next thought was that I could saw the vertical stabilizer in half and reassemble it making it narrower. However, the fault is of different width at the bottom side of the vertical stabilizer assembly. So... There will be some modelling required. I will put some shims on the inside of the stabilizer to fill gaps. Then, I will file and sand the offending areas to shape. Heh... all of that stuff we have been hoping to avoid. In other news.... One of the great things about the directions is a blue highlighted area to point out gluing surfaces. So, I glued the cockpit in as directed. And then decided to check the directions regarding an interior frame I had purposely omitted. Seems you need it to hold on the ventral plate under the cockpit. So, I added it. i It also helps determine the height of the after end of the cockpit deck. Much to my chagrin. I discovered that the first aid access hatch was too easy to sink too deep into the side of the fuselage. So, I had to pry it out carefully and shim it up. So... I implore you. Don't follow the directions. Attach the first aid access hatch before you close the fuselage up. I also put Mr. surfacer over the sink marks I pointed out earlier. Now to let it dry. Meanwhile... I'll start back on the wings and ruminate further on the empennage mess. Happy modelling! HB252, MikeMaben, Martinnfb and 17 others 18 1

But reshaping basic structure was a bit more than I expected. Adding two plugs to widen the horizontal stabilizer fixed some of the problem. But I will still have to reshape the leading areas of the fairing between tail plane and fuselage. dutik
Well, that stabilizer issue should never had happened given the pricetag of this kit. And the reputation of the manufacturer. You are loosing your face, Zoukai Moura. Regards - dutik fab, Gazzas and Antonio Argudo
