Macchi C.202 Folgore, PCM

Hi all!

The interior is done…

Lots of small, fiddly metal boxes to fold!

IMG_9932

To relax from the etch folding, I sanded and polished the nose of the fuselage.

The cockpit is primed with Alclad Black Microfiller….

The fuselage got all seams painted, just to check for any imperfections…

IMG_9958

One tiny ghost seam showed up (they always do!)…

The spine and stabilizator seams looks good, tough.

More to come soon!

Hi All!

The wheel wells glued in place, plasic, etch and resin in a wonderful combo!

Hard to get good photos….

The wheel wells primed with Alclad Black Microfiller…

I primed the cockpit with Alclad Black Microfiller and then I painted it British Interior Green (Hu.78).

It sounds quite weird but the British colour is actually a very good match to the Italian colour, so that´s what I went with.

Close enough….

The fuselage sides got the same colour too….

…and the wheel wells….

Looking good, the green does look like Verde Anticorrosione, I've just painted the interior of my Re2005 with a Mike Starmer mix of H34 + H78 and it is very similar.

I will be interested to see how the smoke rings decals go on.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks all!

@Dennis; Good to know that the color Isn´t too far off!

@Kagemusha; Painting smoke rings neatly are definetley above my skills!  :D

First I picked out the details in Matt Black (Hu.33 and 85), then a dry-brush with Aluminium (Hu.56) and then a heavy, dirty wash (Lamp Black mixed with Burnt Sienna Artistic Oils and white spirit) in the Cockpit and the wheel wells

The Cockpit parts….

The Desert filter glued in place…

IMG_0344

The rear cockpit bulkhead and headrest glued in place, very fiddly, but It looks good!

IMG_0345

The air filter below the nose is suspended at a little plastic bow on the inside of the nose part.

The opening are much larger then the cooler!

The parts were very thin and brittle and literally fell into three parts as I looked at It!

I managed to repair it with lots of CA, but it´s not pretty!

Now the etched grill parts are glued in place…

The seat belts are glued in place but I painted the wrong side of the shoulder belts, I´ll correct that later.
