hurribomber Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 On the original plans, the positions of the formers are measured from the datum line. That's why I had to temporarily stretch a thread through the fuselage to measure. I spent a lot of time researching how to attach the former 2 to the fuselage tube. Thanks to the photos and drawings that Steven Smart sent me, I was able to build the parts. The starboard bracket and the port bracket are different, which doesn't make things any easier... MikeMaben Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Hi Thomas, I've seen reference to that tubing brace that was at the rear of the windshield as having forward facing holes that had heated engine air piped thru it to defrost the windshield. Have you seen any reference to that ? Martinnfb 1
hurribomber Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 Hi Mike Thanks for your tip. Unfortunately I have no information for this. I also don't see a connection for hot air. If you know more about it, please let me know. Martinnfb, Derek B and MikeMaben 2 1
MikeMaben Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 (edited) This illustration is from the Modeler's Datafile 2 , lower left , called a 'demisting tube' ... The holes would be on the forward side and therefore making them pretty much invisible from any angle. ? Edited September 30, 2024 by MikeMaben hurribomber, Derek B, mozart and 1 other 3 1

hurribomber Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Here I am again. I had to build a support with plasticine and cardboard to solder the support rod for the gunsight at the exact angle on former 2. Shoggz, Trak-Tor, patricksparks and 3 others 6

hurribomber Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 I start with the blind flight panel. The cut-outs for the instruments are cut to the right size with the conical reamer so that the instruments fit in exactly. rafju, Shoggz, Marcin_Matejko and 6 others 9
