Paul Allen's collection sold in its entirety-UPDATE, reports are museum will reopen at some point

I've been wanting to see the collection, but it was closed very early in 2020 and has not reopened nor given any clue as to when they will reopen.  Now it appears they will never reopen in Seattle.

Scratch one missed opportunity.

Yes, the last Fat Man and the next to last Little Boy.  Hate to see them end up in a dump, so here's hoping for the best!

My dad flew B 47s.  One thing he always drilled into me, never loan anyone your nukes.  They never return them.  Or maybe it was favorite book?

I like the fact that the entire collection was sold intact.  I sincerely hope that the next awesome museum is in the middle of the country.  I really want to see that Jumo Stuka and Me 262 fly someday.  Hopefully not over some urban highway structure or local highrise buildings.   Fingers crossed.

A similar thing happened with the Paul Littlefield Armor collection, and selfishly, the same thing happened to me there, before I could see it, he passed away and his family immediately sold everything.

Against his last wishes too, he wanted a the collection preserved and kept on site, but his god digging San Francisco socialite "wife" whom married him right as he was dying didn't like the noise...

Most of the collection was bought up by the Collings Foundations, and who knows what their status is now, after their negligence caused their B-17 crash.

I'm right there with you.  I never got up there to see that collection either.  Allen's collection was so good too.  There were all kept in pristine and flyable condition.
