Chek
For some inexplicable reason I've always liked the F1 without the 'go-faster stripe' fuselage cable fairings more than its similar pointy finned fellows. I plan to convert an Echelon example into one as soon as a certain member here *cough* has progressed his fuselage tank to correct the Trumpeter kit sufficiently to release a copy. Sabrejet
F.6 for me always. Mind you every Lightning is something special. Chek
Jack
I have fond memories in my early youth of lots of Javelins, Canberras and finally Lightnings passing by our house on final approach to RAF Geilenkirchen, nowadays home to the Nato Awacs unit. Great aircraft, and on later age i found out that especially the engine configuration (one on top of the other) could be very tricky with an engine failure on the upper engine and fuel would be still flowing over the bottom one because of fuelline leakage ( airforce colleague of mine experienced it in a T-version on squadron exchange......) Sabrejet
Back in the day (seems not that long ago) you couldn't go through Lincolnshire without being buzzed by a Lightning or a Vulcan. Golden era for sure.
