Phenomenal! A fabulous result. The paint and wheathering are perfect and the research into technical detail very interesting.

A detail forgotten by GWH: the landing gear door at the rear is oblique, not square,

the corner is rounded and the fairing on wing is beveled to allow clearance to torque link when the ldg is up.

Left: P40/H81; right: P40/H87

Thank you maestro. Coming from you, it’s the biggest compliment this modeller can aim for.

I’ve always considered that a good scale model has to offer the right balance between three factors:

- technical (how the original subject was manufactured?)

- historical (where, when and under which conditions was it used?)

- and artistic (how to attract the eye of the beholder and make it tick).

To paraphrase Rod Steward, every detail tells a story. A good model has many, many stories to tell.

And what are we all doing here apart telling tall tales? :P

Nice looking model.  This has been a fascinating build, and I've bookmarked it when I start mine.

Glad you like it Michael. Looking forward to seeing your version :)

Cheers,

Quang

There’s a pub near me called “The Tippling Philosopher”…….I shall think of Quang in the future as “The Modelling Philosopher”! But you are so right Quang in every respect. :yahoo:

Soooo… the antenna wires were added much as I understood Waroff’s description.
1. The antenna mast was erected and TR 1133 installed

2. IFF wire cutter aerials installed between tip of stab and fairlead on the fuselage top

3. As TR 1133 was installed, TR9D was unused but the aerial wire running from fin top and wing tips was not removed.

The wires were made from Pym elastic thread graciously provided by @mozart. Insulators on TR9D wire from aluminium micro-tubes.

It’s the end of our journey. The ship’s coming in. Time for the pics :D

Thank you Brian. Add to that the wonderful moments I had building this model and sharing it with my colleagues :D
