Tolga ULGUR
Hello everyone, Before sharing WIP pictures I would like to clarify some points. As you can see in the first picture there is an ventral antenna mast . If I m not wrong this was added during restoration of this bird. And it seems that GWB copied this entirely. So I have decided not to use this piece, albeit late. That means some minor work is needed to remove traces of this plugin And secondly the color of both fuselage lights (left and right side) is blue. Is that correct?? Thanks in advance. quang
I don’t know about the first photo but on the second one, it’s indeed a blue formation light on both sides of the fuselage. Same light on a P-40E Cheers, Quang Edited May 6, 2022 by quang rafju, BiggTim, Tolga ULGUR and 2 others
Tolga ULGUR
Thanks @quang I found some pictures on the internet. It seems that this part was not found on the original aircraft. I think it's an antenna mounted on restored aircraft in flying condition So I deleted it. MikeMaben, BiggTim, scvrobeson and 1 other
quang
It looks indeed like a ‘modern’ antenna Tolga ULGUR

Indeed the lights were in a different location depending on the version but they served the same purpose. I posted the pic just to show how it looks like. You’d agree it’s a very special kind of blue Paul in Napier and BiggTim
quang
Taking good shape, Tolga Just two minor details you’d want to correct: The two filler caps under the side window should be RED (fuel) in front and YELLOW or SILVER (oil) at the rear. GWH got it wrong with their instructions A noticeable difference between the P-40B/C and the later versions is the central seam visible under the chin. They’re very easy to correct and would add much to the finished model. By the way I have a question about the propeller. Are the propeller tips of these AVG P-40s painted yellow?
quang
I’m not sure about the AVG but on the RAF Tomahawks, yellow tips only on the side opposite the pilot. Edited May 12, 2022 by quang DeanKB, Paul in Napier, Alex and 7 others 9

Tolga ULGUR
And here it is: I have used Barracudacast main whells which are designed for Trumpeter kit. But no chance for the tailwheel . It is from the box. And the seat. I have used Eduard seatbelts. LSP_Kevin, MikeMaben, CODY and 6 others
quang
Good corrections The resin tyres are great. Which paint did you use for the rubber tailwheel? How did it behave? Tolga ULGUR

Rubber has not committed any rudeness for this time being Landrotten Highlander
