matto21 Posted March 10, 2022 Share Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) Hello all, I started this quite a few months ago, but for one reason or another, it fell by the wayside which is a shame as it's a really nice kit. I'm a notoriously slow builder, and I don't like having lots of projects on the go because if I do, I never finish anything. So I decided to dust it down and push on. As it's semi completed, I've added a few pictures of the progress so far. Cockpit parts painted and weathered - straight out of the box, no additions. I will be using some AM wheels - Eduard Brassin v kit parts: Painting underway, I'm doing this as a captured RAF machine. Camo is freehand. First time I've used AK Real Colors. It's interesting to note the variation between the different brands, in this case AK RC, Mr Hobby Aqueous and Tamiya! I had to make a guess at the black areas behind the exhausts, as the pictures that come with the decals are of little use. She's now all glossed up and ready for decals. The front cowling ring should be silver but I just didn't like how it looked! So, in my version of history, this was replaced with a part taken from another aircraft - sorry! I haven't found them the easiest to use, a lot of effort required to get them to bed down which is a real shame with a kit such as this, which has lots of very fine surface detail.
