Just a detour into true scale territory. Hopefully, I'll back on a proper LSP very soon! I've done some weathering via post-shading with the airbrush. I've also applied the exhaust stains, again using the airbrush. Still some more weathering to do but I'm approaching the end of this build. Landing gear, antennae, drop tank, etc. The only thing left to do is the aerial. The next pics will be of the completed model. Thunnus Posted April 2, 2022 Author Share Posted April 2, 2022 Here are the finished photos of the 1/72 IBG Focke Wulf Fw190D-9 Early Production kit. It's a big step down from my usual 1/32 scale builds and the results show my lack of expertise at executing certain things at this scale. But it was a fun journey and an interesting experiment in technique application. The build was pretty much out-of-the-box without anything added since the IBG kit is so well featured, complete with PE details. Uncarina, LSP_Kevin, D.B. I dunno... difference of opinion, I guess... but I don't think it looks "far too pronounced". If I had my choice, I probably would not have chosen to show rivets on a 1/72 190D-9 model but I was curious to see what it would look like. The camera shots tend to emphasize the busy-ness that the rivets impart on the model but it's not as stark to the naked eye. Pretty impressive from a molding perspective. Pretty ballsy to mold rivets at this scale and I think IBG is closer to actually pulling it off than not. But I realize that the representation of rivets, at any scale, can be a polarizing subject.
