Ryan
No it looks like they are all blanked off on the jack side! Need to pry mine off and follow directions every once and a while. LSP_K2
LSP_K2
Oh boy, ejector pin marks! This is unfortunately too typical of this model, very Trumpeter like. Oh well, I'll just have to do what I have to do. The raised rectangular portions (and their corresponding tabs), are really quite inaccurate, but I intend to leave them as they are. (Hopefully the judges won't look too closely at this area.) mustang1989
LSP_K2
I've also made the decision to proceed full steam with just this, setting my 1:350 Hornet aside for a while, hopefully allowing me to finish this model, and its base, by September. I just don't feel that I have the time left to do both satisfactorily. Ryan and mustang1989 1

Oh man....and those are in some baaaaaaaaaaaaad places too. And yes......you're right. Trumpy pulls the EXACT same stuff. lol Edited May 10, 2022 by mustang1989 LSP_K2
Rick Griewski
Many of these pin marks can be filled cleanly by using Waldron tool punched disks. LSP_K2 and LSP_Ray

Some certainly can, or at least basically "fill the void", but there's always still a bit more filling required, as the discs are never going to fit perfectly. Rick Griewski
You will be surprised.
LSP_K2
Since I hadn't touched this kit in quite some time, I decided to jump back on it. First up, ejector pin filling. This will consume most of the time spent on this model.
LSP_K2
And some more, just for luck.
LSP_K2
Bogie assemblies also get a helping hand in the way of some liquefied putty, correcting some mismatch in those areas (probably as a consequence of something dumb that I did). LSP_K2
At this point, all that can be added to the hull, is added to the hull, save for some pretty fragile bits that will be added later. LSP_Ray and Ryan
LSP_K2
The turret seam filling (using Vallejo putty and 93% alcohol), is coming along rather nicely, though obviously is not finished just yet. Ryan
LSP_K2
Any builder of this kit, needs to be aware that this vertical seam, which also appears in mirror image fashion on the far side, is a molding remnant, and needs to be removed. LSP_Ron
All those injector pin marks would drive me absolutely insane!
