Good morning Vince,

Beautiful job on both a/c... Let me know if you are in need of a trumpeter wildcat prop... I have a couple kits - but I'm using a hamilton standard hub and blades on mine so you're welcome to the kit props if you need them... Have a great day, Mike

Hi Mike

Why thank you very much that's very of you.

How are achieving Hamilton hubs and blades?

Excellent job on the FM-2! As an addition (and hopefully these will help), I have these images scanned from the album of one Erwin Mott Jr. from Bridgeport, CT. We have a display with some of his flight suits from his long career spanning WWII (when he was flying these Wildcats in the Mid-Atlantic) into post war Naval Air Reserve. Enjoy.

It's been awhile since I bought them - but best as my cruddy memory is - I'm thinking that I bought a set of B-24 props off of ebay... May have to reshape a little bit here and there but nothing major and they look good to me... All my models are built based on warbirds or air racers past and present and I haven't seen any Wildcats flying on the airshow circuit with the type of prop blades provided in any of the kits...

Keep calm and carry on

Although not working this weekend it was busy with family duties much of it being Taxi service for the youngsters.

I did however get the new prop painted and decaled once this is dry it will be time for some weathering and oils.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally completed the FM-2 just in time for Milton Keynes model show 2022

As a bonus also completed my Martlet 3 as well

When I get a day with nice weather I'll take some proper pictures with my real camera

Thanks very much for the input and following my project.

Happy modelling Vince
