1/32 Revell F-16 XL

Well, let's make it clear  I'm not gonna make fuselage longer and wings bigger  Also, I have no chance to buy conversion set. This one will be OOB, with resin seat and custom NASA decals

 

As you can see, there is a pile of innacurate plastic and I hope there will be an innacurate model in the end

 

Here are my only AM things

 

 

At first, I wanted to make a space fighter out of it but this GB convinced me to make it OOB. So I have to bing it back to normal state. I had trouble finding part where parachute is but surprise, surprise it was in scrapbox

According to a Youtube video I watched recently the F-16XL could have been a world-beater. I guess we'll never know.

To be fair...no progress...I'm so tired with real ones after Lukgraph DH90 that I'm into only SF right now...

a walk around of the F-16XL of my good modelling friend Cees Hendriks is seen on the IPMS The Netherlands site. Cees, a great 1/32 modeller here in The Netherlands ,  has provided thousands ! of walk around photos to me as webmaster over the years, who I published on the IPMS The Netherlands website for modellers world wide. At the IPMS.Nl site you can find over 350 walk arounds!

@Artoor:  Nice to see this XL model tackled! I have a pair of these "in the stack" but yeah... being a classic...... don't we all have these... ??

I wish, I didn't have a good camera way back then.

There was so much to see at that show! X-Planes, Prototypes, Support Aircraft ... Amazing ..!

I looked at my stash and found 2 F-16 XL kits with the plan to use both to make a more accurate kit....

 

Any progress on this one?
