Ah, it´s Sunday and you know what that means, updateytime!

Always bring the weather with you...

Yes, time to weather the beast!

Started with a wash in the wheel bays....I didn´t want to over do it....too much.

I'll leave it as this until I have another look at it in a different light but I doubt I need to add more, maybe remove.

Then I sloshed a wash on a wing, the fact is that the model is so big and unwieldy that I have to weather in increments. It doesn´t do wonders for my inpingement in my shoulder.

IMG_5909.JPG

Wiped it off....doesn´t look half bad really

IMG_5910.JPG

Both wings done...

And the forward section....

IMG_5913.JPG

And this is the result after the wash looks good at a distance but I might return to clean up areas...or add. it´s not done until the flat coat is down.

Next for some streaking, leaks and dirt with pigments.....I love pigments! You can weather so fast with pigments instead of laying down a gazillion different washes.

And the belly is done....well like I said I will have a second look to see if it holds water. Starting to come alive don´t you think?

Great weathering Aigore! Totally shows all the nice details and makes it a Viggen with quite flying hours. Wondering how the topside will look :clap2:

Dang you’re a talent with those pigments. Really  captures the essence of airflow over the airframe

Thanks themongoose :D

I find it easier to get the results you want with pigments and it's easy to remove if you don't :P

Beautiful as usual! that detail is picked out superbly well. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Phartycr0c :D

It's a process :P over the years I noticed that the weathering took longera and longer to do but ended up being less

It's Friday and the weathering continues...

Beginning of the end...

It's time to weather the upperside!

First a panel wash, I tried  AK panelliner for Brown And green..I tested it first on the wing  before comitting to it.

IMG_5945.JPG

Not too shabby, I wanted a darkish wash but not black because it kind of takes over too much from the paintjob.

IMG_5946.JPG

So I happily sloshed it all over the place

IMG_5947.JPG

And wiped off.

IMG_5949.JPG

That square was painted ontop of the gloss coat and didn´t like the wash....just as well since it´s in the wrong place :P I will remove and redo.

IMG_5950.JPG

I like how it turns light in the black panels....really nice stuff.

IMG_5951.JPG

With the panellines done I used LC Zinc chrome yellow to post shade.

IMG_5952.JPG

Yeah, maybe I over did it here and there but no worries it´ll be nice in the end.

There, now for some Tamiya smoke to tone things down a bit and darken around panels and hatches.

IMG_5957.JPG

Goood, goood....first I did was spill a big splotch from the cup on the wing, well made it smear aout with a wet paint brush.

IMG_5958.JPG

And it's on....all is very sublte.

IMG_5963.JPG

OK, got to mask the nose tip before the flat coat.

IMG_5964.JPG

IMG_5965.JPG

Then on with the flat coat.

IMG_5966.JPG

I just have to unmask the cockpit now!

IMG_5967.JPG

Looks good....I will have to clean the windshield from tape residue but that´s ok.

IMG_5968.JPG

Well....I´m on the final lap with this :D More weathering in the next update
