Good morning lads,

I finally finished my new summer project GWH's 1/48th scale T-33A.

My time was limited to present you an in progress work, but i will try to give you an idea !!

The kit and some aftermarkets...also used some custom masks for the ''USAF'' and ''TR-411'' codes from my friend Alexis

A few words about the kit....AWESOME!!! (my humble opinion!)....nothing more

A few words about Caracal decals...the same!!! Awesome!!

I started dealing with the cockpit as a usual...here i used Eduard PE for the cockpit and the pilot's seat!

I glued everything together, fit was really great!! Some sanding work needed but it was my fault, i did not prepared the plastic joints too good!!

And it was painting time, i used Ak extreme metal for the metallic finish and , as i did with my F-86D, i sprayed it with very light passes on the bare plastic! of course i had prepared the plastic thoroughly for this work and i had also polished it with micromesh!

Finish was awesome. a bit fragile, but awesome. I did not want a mirror finish bird, i wanted it a bit weathered and slightly used. The bare metal takes a beautiful patina over time and different on each occasion. It is never the same!!

Everything painted so far

+3! That finish is really amazing looking. Ive not had much luck with the AKI colors as each time I mask over them I seem to get marks. Might have to give them another go!

Well done

Thank you very much. What you say is true, i detack the masking tape an d i try to seal the finish with a light hand of future or X-22. Polished aluminium is the most fragile. What i have understand is that every good metallic color has its own characteristics and need different approach!!

Very cool!  I work, on what used to be the grounds of Hamilton Field. The runways are gone, but some buildings are still around. I voted it one of the old buildings. The Coast Guard uses one of the hangers, and they restored the Tower, but the rest of the area is a business park.  Dick Bong flew P-38s from the field before they shipped him off to the Pacific.

Man that's gorgeous! I will have to get one of those.

I have the special hobby 32nd T-33 and all the aftermarket

stuff but every build you read it's hard to put together.

Awesome job on a very cool airplane! I'll have to jump

in the deep end of the pool with a BMF on mine....

Cheers...Ron
