esarmstrong
Just saw this on Britmodeller. Too early or late for "April Fools". Big WOW, if true. Among their very first efforts were now antiquated toolings of this plane in 1/48 and 1/72 scale. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235099630-132-yakovlev-yak-9-family-by-icm/ Edited September 23, 2021 by esarmstrong Dany Boy, scvrobeson, Tony T and 9 others 9

Probably right. But let's wait and see. Maybe we get a pleasant surprise. My guess is they start with the Yak-9 D, T (long and short nose versions) & the bomber version. If they really do decide to do all the various versions of the Yak-9, they could stay busy for a long while. Hans
That would be an excellent choice by ICM. There are lots of very colorful schemes for the Yak-9, it's a bit like a soviet counterpart to the P-51D Mustang in that respect. scvrobeson, LSP_K2 and Martinnfb
Flipper
Well, it will be interesting to see, if we get a high-tech version from Special Hobby, as it was announced for Cobra. I would like to know, if we get Yak-1... scvrobeson
Iain
Would be a nice subject IMHO. I've become quite a fan of ICM - and suspect I'm far from alone! Iain scvrobeson, esarmstrong, npb748r and 7 others

Tony T
Super news. In an act of gross negligence I let the Special Hobby Normandie-Nieman Yak-3 pass me by, so it's time to catch-up and atone. Tony Uncarina
Troy Molitor
You can all thank me. My last kit I purchased was the Silver Wings Yak-9. ICM seem destined to do the entire SW line up it seems.. Hoping for the late and early Mark Yak-9. How about out a La-5? coogrfan, scvrobeson, D Bellis and 5 others

Dennis7423
Admittedly, I did not know the difference between the Yak-3 and the Yak-9, aside from six numerical digits. I was surprised to read that the Yak-9 was significantly larger than the Yak-3. However, it appears that both aircraft were highly admired by their pilots. I read about one Polish pilot, who had flown the Spitfire IX, a P-51B, and the Yak series, and he emphatically preferred the Yak for combat. Sure do hope this comes true, and spurs ICM to tackle more 1/32 Russian types, like an Lagg-3 and La-5/7 series. - Dennis S. Fingers crossed. coogrfan, LSP_K2, Dennis7423 and 3 others
Iain
I'd absolutely love a Pe-2 Roy - what a good-looking aeroplane! We can dream... Iain LSP_K2, Royboy, scvrobeson and 2 others
