and yes here is room for extra detail and no im not going to do that

Well, that is a bit of a let down. When everything else is so well detailed that this area is not up to the standard of the rest of the pit.

front engine fan blades

the bay for the rat

H3LUm17.jpg

now the instructions caal to put the rest off the air intake in place before the bay go in place.

thats a problem to do without sanding  a big part away

so i would try it the other way and first place the bay before the rest off the intake.

i would say  try this before you put it in to place i have done it the hard way

see the pics

i hope you understand what i mean

iff you look at the air intake you see the flat sides i have made to fit the bay in place

Looks awesome Mark!

How are you finding the printed parts? Do they require much clean-up, or are they relatively fine with just a coat of primer and paint?

Matt

it all depends on what parts that you look.

This is the rear end off the feuselage.

At some places no clean up neded but there are areas that needs more work

For small parts sometimes primer is just good

Lovely progress Mark, the RAT bay is excellent! I love the brass color and the details.

The engine fan blade and the nose gear well are beautiful, too.

Hi Mark

I am building mine at the moment as well - just a quick question; Did you manage to find Parts E52 and E53 for the Nose Gear Well?

My casting blocks have been misprinted with wrong part numbers (I have 3 blocks of Part D) so its a bit of a mess. I could have used a parts-map like most manufacturers provide but the above parts I cannot locate anywhere. Just curious if you found them or they are in fact not included?

Thanks

Niels

small stuff done

the braces between the intake and feuselage

middel part on the front part

the instructions tell you to put the airscoops on before the 2 parts go tougheter

but then it will be hard to sand the seam because off the placment off the parts

Not a tamiya fit but with some sanding no problem with mine

Also some primer on.

Wonderful job Mark , wait until the wings/Tail and Canards are on m it,s frigging heavy,

My motto has always been "Build in Haste , Fill at leisure"  it really does go together really well, the just remember to clean the jointing surfaces the tolerances are Really tight , but I suspect you know that already!
